This is the first update since the AGM to let you know what is planned for 2008. We do look forward to seeing you all in the course of the year, and hope you will get involved as fully as possible in the club’s activities.
The AGM…..
was well attended and many people stayed on for a social gathering with buffet and drinks afterwards.
For the first time in many years there were more people willing to serve on the Committee than places available, which was very positive. Your new Committee is as follows:

An apology…
We understand that not everyone received a notice of the AGM and do give our apologies to anyone who was missed out. We try to use e-mail wherever possible and would urge you to let us have your email address if you have one, but will make every effort to ensure that every member receives all letters and communications.
Forthcoming Productions
The next production will be a Cabaret/Review style event called “Brits and Pieces” themed loosely around a light-hearted look at aspects of British culture. Directed and produced by Jane Snow and Julie Wilding. There will be chorus numbers and individual or group pieces. We already have a good selection of material, but if you have a piece that you would like to perform do bring it along for consideration.
The production will take place on the third weekend in October, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th October. People will be seated at tables and a supper provided.
The initial meeting will be held in the Clubroom on Wednesday 4th June at 8 pm and I do hope to see you all then..
Pantomime…
It is hoped that we will go straight into rehearsal for pantomime after the Cabaret show, and read-through and casting will take place in July. The performance dates for the panto will be the second weekend in February 2009. This is much later than usual, but will take the pressure off the Christmas period for those involved.
Membership Subs…
….for this year fell due on 2nd April. I would be grateful to receive any subs not yet paid as soon as possible. The annual sub is still £10, and should be made payable to Priors Players and sent to Jane Snow, Hon. Treasurer, Juglans, St Mary Bourne, Andover, Hants SP11 6AR. Many thanks.
Social Activities….
A trip to the Watermill has been organised for July and it is hoped that more trips will be organised during the year. We are still looking for a Social Secretary – so if anyone would like to take on this particular role do let Sophy Blakeway know, or any of the committee. Likewise, if anyone has a particular suggestion for an outing please let the committee know.
Again our apologies to anyone who did not hear about the trip, we will do our best to ensure that no-one misses out on information in the future.
